Founded by Julius Cesar in 49 BC, Fréjus has grown to become a large and
lively town. It contains famous Roman ruins, a lovely town centre with
an impressive Cathedral built of old stone and set in a pretty square.
The baptistery (5th century) and the cloisters (12th century) are
remarkable. The port of Fréjus, inaugurated as late as in 1989, can room
some 750 boats with capacities up to 30m. length.
