Mougins

empty picture

Description: What did Picasso and Churchill have in common? Both painted in Mougins, a place they loved. In a snail-like formation, this once fortified city has inspired many an artist and more recently, received numerous stars seeking a hideout from the Cannes-festival. Little is left from the roman days except the ruins of the ramparts from the 14th century. Protected forest and parks cover 50% of the area. Its mild and dry climate makes Mougins an attractive place to live. 8 kms. from Mougins, you find neighbouring Mouans-Sartoux, also deserted in the 14th century and rebuilt the following century.

Events: Art festival – June-August Gastronomic festival – September
